What better way to spend an afternoon in October than on a steam train, enjoying good food and a lovely journey back in time through beautiful countryside.
The West Somerset Railway’s Cream & Steam package offers a 40-mile round trip from Minehead to Bishops Lydeard.

The outward journey
Departure from Minehead is at 2.25pm. The Cream Tea will be served to your table in a specially reserved coach after departure from Williton, which will allow plenty of time for you to enjoy the experience.
At Bishops Lydeard……
……you will have the opportunity if you so wish to stretch your legs and watch the steam train round your train for the return journey. Why not also have a look inside The Gauge Museum on platform 1 and have a browse in the station shop, run by the WSRA.
The return journey
Your train will depart from Bishops Lydeard at 4.05pm.
Exmoor Food Festival
The WSR, as part of its contribution to the Exmoor Food Festival, is promoting its locally produced WSR cream tea on this special “Cream & Steam” outing. The Railway’s Catering Department has a policy of wherever possibly buying local products, and is pleased to be able to support the Exmoor Food Festival.
Fares
The all-inclusive cost of the train trip and food is just £8.00 per person.
Catering
Buffet and bar facilities will be available on ALL train services during the weekend, serving a range of hot and cold food, tea & coffee and a range of other alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
