Friday & Saturday 6 & 7 December 2002
For two days each December the medieval village of Dunster extinguishes all its electric light, bans the motor car from its streets and basks in the glow of yesteryear. In addition, there is a lantern parade through the village, plus entertainment from Morris Dancers, Magicians, Handbell Ringers, medieval minstrels and a lot more…! By far the best way to beat the inevitable traffic jams is to travel to the event by train on the WSR.
The WSR runs a number of special trains to ‘Dunster by Candlelight’, with the choice of alighting at Dunster and walking to the village (about 15 minutes) or travelling from Minehead Station by special reserved bus link.
All trains depart from Bishops Lydeard - setting down at Dunster and Minehead.
