Trains from Bishops Lydeard
The WSR is running a 1960’s vintage diesel train from Bishops Lydeard (just 5 miles from Taunton) to Minehead and back again on the following dates during 2003:-

The outward journey
On departure from Bishops Lydeard station (where there is plenty of FREE parking) at 6.50pm, your specially fried food will be served to you in heat retentive containers. You will also be served with your glass of wine (or non-alcoholic alternative). The train will then make a leisurely journey to Minehead, giving plenty of time to take in the beauty of the Quantock Hills and the Exmoor Coast, plus the views across the Bristol Channel to South Wales.
At Minehead
The train arrives in Minehead at 8.00pm, whereupon you will have 60 minutes to spend at your leisure – perhaps for a walk along the sea front or a stroll around the town.
The return journey
Your special train will depart from Minehead at 9.00pm for the return to Bishops Lydeard, scheduled to arrive at 10.00pm.
Trains from Minehead
This will again be a 1960s vintage diesel train which will travel to Williton – passing Dunster Castle and Blue Anchor Bay, before the inland climb to Washford and the return to the coast at Watchet. At Williton you can watch the locomotive uncouple and run round your train, before the return to Watchet. There will be a break at Watchet for a leisurely stroll around the old town and new marina, before boarding your train again at 9.00pm for the trip back to Minehead, arriving at 9.30pm. Trains FROM Minehead will operate on the following dates in 2003:-

General Information on all trains
Buffet
There will be a micro buffet on the train open throughout the round trip, selling hot and cold drinks, plus beers and ciders from Somerset brewers and farms. You can also purchase cakes and sweets if you fancy a “pudding” after your main meal.
Fares
The all-inclusive cost of the train trip and food is: Adult - £12, Senior Citizen - £12, Child - £8.
