WSR Journal Editor
The WSR journal is an A5 sized features based glossy magazine for our members and supporters. It is issued four times a year and run by a team of dedicated volunteers, led by the Editor, with contributions from all around the railway.
Our current Journal editor will be standing down after the summer 2017 issue and we are looking for someone to succeed him. There will be an opportunity to work with the current editor on the summer issue, before taking over for the autumn 2017 issue. For more information please contact either the WSRA General Manager or the current Journal Editor.
The WSRA has a need for someone with database knowledge and skills. As a fundraising membership organisation we need to store a lot of information in a safe, secure and easily accessible format - in other words a database. We do have some databases, but they are old and need some TLC. It may be that someone with the right skills could simply tidy them up, write a few new queries for us and all would be well. OR perhaps it would be simpler to start afresh.
Do you have the skills to help? Would you be able to look at our old access databases and advise on the best way forward?
Please contact the WSRA General Manager to discuss how you can help.
Steam Rally Volunteers
The annual Steam Fayre and Vintage Vehicle Rally is our major fundraising event. This year it will be held on 5th and 6th August. It is a major event in the Steam Rally Calendar and we could not run it without an army of enthusiastic volunteers.
We need help before, during and after the event with a range of tasks from Marshall and Safety Officer to Barmaid and Programme Seller. For more information and to download an application form please visit the dedicated website.
